Highs and lows
Three parts in review. Sarah Jarosz were unbelieveably better than expected when they took the stage first. Although good then, seen them in their early years, better now. Strong vocals and guitar playing by Simmons and Johnston rocked. They really enjoyed playing for the audience, you could tell, not just going thru the motions. Part two, Chicago. Since the horn section seemed to be the only original members, I didn't have high expectations for them but I did expect them to be decent. They were not. Sounded like listening to a garage band playing after the Doobies. All the ladies loved them for singing all those mushy love songs but sound wise they were not very good. Part three. The Doobies came back out on stage with Chicago and they played together playing each others songs. The crowd came alive again the minute the Doobies came back out. Listen to the Music was fantastic and 25 or 6 to 4 was just as good. Chicago had the Doobies playing with them and it sounded so much better. I would go see this concert again and endure thru Chicago because Sarah Jarosz were that good.
